Assay and Platform Advisory
Assay validation design, application notes, and the scientific credibility your customers ask you for — written by someone who has bought your product from the sponsor side.
- For
- CROs, imaging and instrument vendors, reagent and tool companies, and academic cores
- Deliverable
- Validation design, application notes, and customer-facing scientific material
- Timeline
- Hours to weeks, scoped with you
- Price
- From $10,000, or $2,500 a day
Who it is for
CROs, imaging and instrument vendors, reagent and tool companies, and academic cores. I have been on both sides of this table: I ran a high-content screening portfolio at a CRO, and I spent four years buying CRO work as a sponsor.
Scope
Scoped per project. The usual shapes:
- assay validation design for a platform or a new application, with acceptance criteria a sponsor will accept
- application notes and technical content written for a scientific buyer rather than a marketing one
- customer-facing scientific credibility: reviewing claims, tightening figures, and sitting on a customer call as your scientific second
- specifying a study your team can then run, when your customer needs a sponsor-side scientist to write the protocol
Inputs
The platform or assay, the claim you want to support, the customer segment, and whatever data already exists.
Deliverable
Named per project, in writing, before the work starts. Every engagement I take has a named deliverable, a date and a fixed fee.
Timeline
Per project.
What is excluded
Competing on wet-lab execution. I do not run experiments, and I do not build a lab that competes with yours. I also do not take a fee, commission or equity from any vendor in exchange for a recommendation to a client, which is what makes the advisory worth having.
Referred out
Families I do not claim, listed on the expertise page, are referred to partners without a fee.
